A quaint Hispanic church just a few meters aways from the Centra Business District of Makati City. The structure is made of massive adobe which reflects the era when it was built.

Photo/Video Requirement:
- No permit
- No aircon. Very, very, very hot during summer. Actually, it is hot there all the time. Ensure that you have your own fan. Most of the couples give it as giveaways especially if this is the church.
- No choir loft.
- The ceiling is very nice with old castillan chandelier and fan. The ceiling is painted with white which creates an impression of a canopy.
- Photographers/Videographers must not step on the altar area.
- It has a swivel door which is very dramatic for a silhouette shot of the bride as she enters the church.
- The aisle is too narrow. We suggest only the bride and the father should walk down the aisle.
- The “manangs†are the ones calling the groups for the pictorials. This ensures orderly group picture taking.
- Only limited groups can be taken inside. However, the church stairs are more picturesque for group pictures.
- The photographer can go to the left and right side of the altar by passing at the back door.
- The yellow and green stained windows are ideal for background shots of the couple and accessories (bouquet, etc.).

Indoors:
- Hotels in Ortigas (Edsa Shangri-La, Crowne Plaza, etc.)
- Hotels in Makati (Peninsula Manila, Intercontinental, Shangri-La Makati, New World/Rennaisance Hotel, etc.)
Outdoors:
- Alcove (former Nielson’s Tower)
- Makati Park& Garden
- NSDG Courtyard (just at the side of the church)
Others:
- The area is really humid. Others even go to the extent of giving mineral water during after the ceremony.
- The side and front of the church is ideal for portraitures.
- One of the few churches in Manila which is frequently being used for commercials and movies.
- Maximize the use of the stairs. It is ideal for portraiture and group shots.
- Going to the church is a bit of a hassle since your bridal car has to weave thru several flower merchants (very near a memorial area) but manageable
Some facts:
- This is Makati’s oldest church and some refer to it as Guadalupe Ruins.
- This was used by Filipinos as a fortress against the Spaniards in 1986 and against the Americans in 1898.
Built by the Agustian friars and follows the baroque architectural style.
Typical of old Spanish churches, several steps leading to the church entrance.
The swivel door which is a must for a dramatic entrance.
A very cinematic effect. Always, assign two people to open the church doors at the same time rather than delegating it to the manangs. Remember, the doors must be opened at each side at the same exact time.

Better to release the doves outside the church rather than inside the reception venue.
There are so many portraiture variations you can do with the church steps. Tell your photographer to MAXIMIZE IT.

hello… just wanted to ask about your opinion about this church.. do you think it will still be too hot if the wedding will be done in December?
You can’t be too sure. Always remind clients to bring fans (or better to make it as giveaways). Other couples go to the extent of bringing water/drinks for the guests.
